About.

I am a writer. I have been a lecturer of composition and rhetoric at a major university, an administrator and development director for a nonprofit agency, and assisted in the implementation of a successful $10 million capital campaign. I have secured sponsors for youth creative and sports programs, and community program development. I have created web pages for programs and services, and determined and developed communication efforts via website and news organizations. I was tha program developer for a pre-k school at a Methodist Church, worked with at-risk teens and

low achieving readers, and determined curriculum and budget development.

I returned to college in 2009, and secured a dual-Master's Degree in Appalachian Studies and English Literature. I also hold a Certificate in Rhetoric and Composition. While in graduate school, I served as the Community Engagement Coordinator for Appalachian State University. I developed and implemented workshops for nonprofit agencies, and assisted with the design and maintenance of the still relevant website, community.appstate.edu.

My work experience is obviously extensive. I have worked in a garden center, worked in sales, waited tables, worked as a groom for Saddlebred horses, and served as a debris monitor during the clean-up of Hurricane Matthew in Horry County, South Carolina.

I have lived in Massachusetts, West Virginia, Florida, North Carolina, and South Carolina. My life's mission is to promote the importance of education and lifelong learning, serve God, and to contribute and be a viable member of society in order to blur the lines of racism and classism, if not erase them.
